Archaeology

BEC employs cultural resources specialists with a wide range of backgrounds and specialties. Our Cultural Resources Program is dedicated to providing the very best services at a reasonable cost to our clients. BEC can provide cultural resources identification surveys, National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) testing, data recovery, and mitigation services to complement our environmental services, providing a full range of services to aid you in your permitting process. Our staff can consult with you to tailor a project to suit your needs, while meeting local, state, and federal regulations.

Architectural Surveys and Assessments

BEC can provide HABS/HAER documentation, standing structures assessments, and chain of title/deed research to fulfill state and federal laws (Section 106, NEPA, etc.) and permitting requirements. Our staff can also provide historic landscape studies and historic research.

Management Documents

BEC is well versed in the production of resources management plans, Memoranda of Agreements (MOA/MOU), Data Recovery Plans (DRP), and Tribal Agreements (TA). Our staff has over 25 years’ experience in writing management and agreement documents.

National Register Studies and Nominations

Our cultural resources staff has experience in researching and nominating structures, sites, districts, and features for the NRHP. Likewise, our staff is familiar with state recognition programs such as the State Archeological Landmark program in Texas.

Native American and SHPO Consultation

BEC can assist in Native American consultation to aid in project development. Our staff has experience working with Native American groups throughout the country. Likewise, BEC has significant experience in SHPO and THPO consultation.
